Condos in Thailand can be owned freehold by foreigners as long as the foreign quota in the condominium building doesn't exceed 49% of the sellable area. Condo owners pay a monthly community fee to cover for common services such as pool maintenance, security, street lights, building insurance, garbage collection etc.
